He's posted 1.85-second pop times on the travel-ball circuit thanks to an above-average arm and quick transfer, and if he gets drafted highly, it will be for his defensive tools. The 6-foot, 185-pounder has some present strength with some gap power but hasn't learned to backspin the ball for home run power yet. He makes contact, though, as his hands work behind the plate and with the bat. Benson lacks a present true plus tool but could be a high pick after three years
