Davis attracted scouting heat early in the spring season when he hit 94 mph, though he was not able to hold that velocity over the course of a season when he wore down under a heavy workload. The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder projects as an innings-eater because he throws a lot of strikes with his fastball and solid-average changeup when he's fresh. He varies his release point on his breaking ball, which hinders his overall command. Davis was ineligible in 2013 and took a redshirt year. He is considered signable.
