Will Kincanon

The Sycamores have consistently produced draftable pitchers-since 2010, the program has had five pitchers picked in the top 10 rounds, including supplemental first-round pick Sean Manaea. Kincanon has a chance to be the sixth. He was a 29th-round pick of the Dodgers last year out of Triton (Ill.) JC, but should go much better this year after serving as Indiana State's Friday starter. After a dreadful start, he allowed only two runs in a four start stretch in late April while striking out more than a batter an inning. Kincanon has touched 93-95 mph at his best, but he's thrown more strikes when he gears down a little, relying on a low-90s sinker. His changeup gives him a second average pitch while he also throws a fringy slider. As a fastball/changeup righthander with sometimes shaky control, a number of evaluators believe he projects better as a power reliever.
