Brady Puckett

Puckett looked poised to develop into a top-of-the-draft talent after his sophomore year, when his fastball was working routinely at 90-93 mph and he struck out 101 and walked only 19 in 107.1 innings. Puckett's results weren't quite as impressive as a junior; his strikeout rate declined and his ERA ballooned to 4.10. Puckett is listed at 6-foot-9, 242 pounds, and optimistic scouts believe his fastball will be an effective pitch at the next level because of the downhill angle he gets on it, even though he pitched at 86-91 down the stretch. Puckett could be in play on day two for some teams, but most scouts aren't optimistic about his athleticism and lack of a swing-and-miss secondary pitch.
