A pair of Latin pitchers who showed arm strength this spring, but not enough to be taken in the top 10 rounds, were Hasaan Pena, a Cuban defector, and Panamanian righty Paulo Espino. Pena was returning to the mound as the draft drew closer after an arm ailment shelved him during the spring. His fastball has been up to 93 mph. Espino is smaller and less durable but has better pitchability than Pena and a solid-average breaking ball to complement his 89 mph fastball.
