A towering 6-foot-9 righthander, Wright is well-traveled and made stops at Iowa Western (JC), Houston and, most recently, Iowa. He was used primarily as a reliever this year and features a low-90s fastball—that he’s able to generate nearly seven-feet of extension on—and a solid mid-to-upper-80s, high spin gyro slider that is his most effective swing-and-miss pitch. Wright’s command can evade him at times and he figures to remain a reliever in pro ball.
