Griffin Cheney

A five-year player for the Panthers, Cheney is a versatile defender that handled primary starting duties at second, shortstop, and third base over his time at Georgia State. Offensively he shows average contact skills with advanced plate discipline hitting .301/.400/.457 over his collegiate career. He enjoyed a breakout 2022 where he hit .350/.445/.640 with 16 home runs and was named second team all-conference. His home run power is pull-side heavy, but he uses the entire field well. He's a smaller player with a big swing and remarkable plate coverage for his size, it's a high effort swing that can punish mistakes left over the plate.
