Franklin is exceptionally old for the class and is already 24 on draft day, after pitching five seasons with Western Carolina and then moving to Missouri for another season in 2023. He struggled to a 7.45 ERA in the bullpen for Missouri this spring, though he did have a 32.4% strikeout rate and 10.4% walk rate. Franklin averaged 94 mph with his fastball and has been up to 98, and also throws a low-80s slider, mid-80s changeup and mid-70s curveball. He has solid swing-and-miss stuff with all of his pitches, but lacks command.
