Following a strong freshman campaign, Belyeu had an outstanding 10-game stint in the Valley League in which he hit .414/.546/1.069 with eight extra-base hits—including five home runs—and 18 RBIs. He’s off to a fast start this spring and will continue to be one of the centerpieces of Auburn’s lineup. Belyeu has a hitterish look in the box with quickness in his hands and above-average bat-to-ball skills. He figures to continue to add strength, but we’re interested to see what his power output looks like this spring. Though Belyeu has been Auburn’s primary centerfielder this spring, we’ll need to see more of him at the position to be sold on his ability to stick there. There is a chance he eventually moves to a corner outfield spot. -

Age At Draft: 18.7
A 6-foot-3, 210-pound outfielder, Belyeu is an impressive athlete who offers a number of tools. He has a chance for above-average raw power thanks to his natural strength, physical projection and bat speed and scouts have been impressed with his ability to backspin the baseball effectively to all fields. On top of the power potential, he’s a plus runner who should be able to stick in center field for the near term, and could be an above-average defender in the outfield as well. Belyeu could be a polarizing player because he wasn’t on the national showcase circuit too frequently, and opinions could vary significantly on the overall caliber of his hit tool. He’s committed to Auburn and has the sort of tool set that could explode on the college scene in a few years if he goes unselected—or chooses not to sign—in 2023.
