Olivera is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound righthander with a well-developed, physical frame and solid athleticism to go with it. He pitched in a high-profile matchup against IMG Academy this spring in Prep Baseball Report’s Florida Preseason Classic and showed a solid four-pitch mix: his fastball was in the 90-94 mph range, he spun an 11-to-5 curveball in the upper 70s that showed good depth when he was on top of the pitch, he generated whiffs on a firm, upper-80s changeup with heavy arm-side fade and he also flashed a low-80s slider—though he had less feel for the pitch. Olivera is a Miami commit with a sound package of stuff to work with.
