A 6-foot-6, 205-pound catcher and outfielder, Price has always shown impressive physical tools with a great frame, but never put everything together with the bat prior to 2022. This spring with Mercer, Price had a career-year in his fourth season with the program. He slashed .315/.460/.626 with an approach that scouts viewed as much better than he’s shown in the past, with 18 home runs and more walks (52) than strikeouts (34). He’s athletic with above-average raw power and plus arm strength, but even with an improved approach and good contact ability, some scouts question his pure hit tool and how it will play at the next level. His frame could prevent him from sticking behind the plate, but Price has experience in all three outfield positions as well as first base, and his arm is strong enough that some evaluators think he should try pitching. His performance alone as a college catcher should have plenty of model-driven teams interested in the 11-20 round range or potentially higher as a senior sign with real tools.
