An undersized righthander that spent three seasons with Miami (Ohio) before entering the transfer portal this summer and committing to Auburn. Brand had a breakout season with the Redhawks this spring making 13 starts and going 8-2 with a 1.40 ERA and 86 strikeouts to 29 walks over 77.1 innings. He performed pre-draft with Wareham of the Cape Cod League as well, striking out 21 batters to just 2 walks over 21 innings of work for the Gatemen. Brand’s drop-and-drive delivery and 5-foot-9 height allow him to deliver the ball from an unusually low release height allowing his fastball to play above his 88-90 mph velocity. He pairs his fastball with a mid-70s curveball with tremendous depth, a high-70s slider, and a changeup he shows feel for.
