  Track Record: Pintar was an undersized walk-on when he arrived at BYU from nearby Spanish Fork (Utah) High, but he became the first player under then-coach Mike Littlewood's tenure to subsequently earn a scholarship. A blue-collar type whose work ethic was forged on the family farm, Pintar gained size and strength and by the end of his redshirt freshman year had turned into one of the better offensive players in the WCC. His college career was derailed by a capsule injury in his right shoulder that needed multiple surgeries, leading him to fall in the draft.
  
  Scouting Report: Pintar has a line-drive swing and the ability to make consistent, hard contact. He has a disciplined approach, rarely swings and misses and uses the whole field well. He could have latent plus power if he can learn to hit the ball in the air more often. He is a terrific athlete with plus speed. Defensively, he has the hands and footwork to play shortstop, but how his arm bounces back from the surgeries will determine his position, with second base and center field as the most likely possibilities.

  Expectations were high for Pintar entering the 2022 season, thanks to a strong 2021 season where he hit .333/.433/.556 with nine home runs and more walks (32) than strikeouts (29) and showed off loud tools. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound middle infielder has above-average raw power and is a plus runner, but his 2022 season was disappointing, and he hit just .209/.329/.284 with 17 strikeouts and eight walks in 17 games. His spring was cut short by a season-ending shoulder surgery, so teams will have to base their evaluations on his prior performance and hope his arm strength returns after surgery. Prior to his surgery he was showing a well below-average arm that might wind up limiting him to second base or potentially push him to the outfield. When healthy he has been a consistent hitter who battles and shows good feel for the strike zone, but a potential third-to-fourth-round selection might be on the optimistic side now given his production and injury this spring.
