Turnquist pitched sparingly as a freshman at Oklahoma (5 IP), but had a lights-out summer with the Santa Barbara Foresters and a minuscule 0.60 ERA with 40 strikeouts across 29.2 innings. He has long, loose arm action and his low-90s fastball jumps out of his hand with tons of ride through the zone (averaged nearly 22 inches of IVB last season). He also mixes in an above-average changeup and a high-70s/low-80s slider that profiles as an effective third pitch.
