Lavallee won Big West Conference co-pitcher of the year honors after going 8-1, 1.69 this spring. His primary pitch is an 89-92 mph sinker with armside life that gets swings and misses both in and out of the strike zone. He throws his sinker liberally and mostly dominates with it alone, but he’ll mix in a fringy upper-70s slider just enough to give batters something else to think about. Lavallee started in college, but his two-pitch mix fits best in a bullpen at higher levels.
