Grebeck's father Craig spent 12 years in the big leagues a scrappy, high-energy middle infielder. At 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, Austin is two inches taller than his father but is cut from the same cloth. He's a classic, hard-nosed gamer with excellent baseball instincts, and he has quality tools as well. His best tool is his plus arm, and he has excellent range in center thanks to his jumps and reads, though he's just an average runner. Grebeck is a tough out at the plate, with good bat-handling skills and a mature approach. He projects as an average hitter who should rack up doubles, and he even has sneaky pop to the pull side. He has played second base and some scouts think he could handle the position in pro ball and profiles best there. His athleticism and arm strength could make him a valuable utilityman who can play all over the diamond. An Oregon recruit, Grebeck could draw interest toward the back of the top 10 rounds.
