Maduro is a physical shortstop who has a strong, 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame and solid tools to go with it. He has a powerful swing and raw power, though there’s a decent bit of unnecessary movement in his swing—particularly with his hands—and his performance against juco pitching makes scouts wonder about the overall quality of his hit tool. Maduro slashed .261/.377/.538 with 14 home runs and seven doubles, but his 45 strikeouts were the third-most on his Northwest Florida State JC team. Some teams could view him as a top-10 round talent given his tools and upside, but the industry might prefer better performance from the juco ranks to select him there, in which case his showing in the draft league during the summer could create more optimism: through 21 games, Maduro slashed .338/.456/.592 with three home runs and a more respectable 22-to-13 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
