Robert emerged as one of the go-to options out of the Miami bullpen last spring and worked a 4.79 ERA with 30 strikeouts to 22 walks across 41.1 innings. He has a high-waisted, workhorse frame and features a fastball that sits in the low 90s—though it’s been up to 97 mph—a low-80s sweeping slider and an upper-70s curveball that pops out of the hand. Robert’s fastball isn’t particularly lively, but he can both run it and sink it. After being the Hurricanes’ "fireman" last spring, he has assumed the Friday starter role.
