Indiana has established a rather lengthy track record of freshmen emerging as key contributors, and Wiggins was no exception. Last spring, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound outfielder hit .309/.466/.546 with four doubles, three home runs and 15 RBIs. While he has average bat-to-ball skills, Wiggins has a polished approach and makes mature swing decisions. He has big-time bat speed and appealing power upside, and pulling the ball in the air more should help him get to it in-game on a more consistent basis. Defensively, Wiggins figures to stick in a corner outfield spot. -

Age At Draft: 18.8
Wiggins is a physically imposing, lefthanded-hitting corner outfielder who can drive the ball with impact. His power is evident during batting practice and it showed up at the Perfect Game WWBA 17U National Championship in July, when he hit three home runs with six extra-base hits in 19 plate appearances. He also showed plus raw power and strength at the 2023 MLB Draft Combine, where he hit a ball over 430 feet. He has both bat speed and plenty of natural strength in a 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame with long levers to create leverage. However, Wiggins tends to pull off the ball early, which against better pitching leads to a higher swing-and-miss rate and a lot of balls sliced the opposite way. There could be more game power to unlock with some adjustments and once he learns which pitches to try to pull out front for damage. He doesn’t chase off the plate excessively and will work his walks. Wiggins is a below-average runner and an offensive-oriented player in an outfield corner. He is committed to Indiana.
