School: Arkansas Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.6
BA Grade: 50/High
Davalan showed positive flashes as a freshman at Florida Gulf Coast in 2024. He transferred to Arkansas for his draft-eligible 2025 season and continued to impress with standout bat-to-ball skills and a .346/.433/.561 line with 14 home runs. Listed at just 5-foot-9, 190 pounds, Davalan packs impressive strength onto his compact frame. He has tweaked his setup in the box and starts with a lower handset, an almost wide-open stance and is doing a better job of getting into his lower half. His bat speed looked quicker in 2025, and his contact as well as contact quality have improved with exit velocities upward of 110 mph. Davalan is an advanced, well-rounded hitter who has a knack for finding the barrel. His 91% overall contact rate and 94% in-zone contact rate are some of the better marks in the college class. He doesn’t have standout raw power, but his contact ability and strength could be enough to supply 14-18 home runs a season. Davalan is an above-average runner who has played all three outfield positions and second base. In 2025 he was a primary left fielder and leadoff hitter. His fringy arm might make left field or second base his most likely pro positions. Davalan could go inside the first two rounds with his top-of-the-order profile.

Track Record: Davalan started his career at Florida Gulf Coast, where he posted a .927 OPS with 10 home runs. He spent that summer with Cotuit of the Cape Cod League—where he was teammates with fellow 2025 Dodgers draftee Logan Lunceford—and then transferred to Arkansas for a season as a draft-eligible sophomore. Davalan quickly adjusted to the Southeastern Conference and posted a .994 OPS with 14 home runs while helping lead Arkansas to within a game of the College World Series finals. The Dodgers swooped up Davalan with the 41st pick in the draft, just minutes after they’d selected fellow Razorback Zach Root with the 40th selection. The Canadian-born Davalan signed for $1,997, 500, a shade under the slot value for the pick.
Scouting Report: Davalan built his reputation on being a pure hitter, and the Dodgers had him valued as one of the best in the class. The strong, compact, lefthanded hitter tweaked his setup heading into his lone year in Fayetteville, and the results were loud. High-quality contact came at an outstanding clip, cementing the Dodgers’ confidence in his abilities. Davalan is likely a hit-over-power player at the highest level, which would profile nicely if he’s able to stick in center field. He has a chance to do just that thanks to above-average speed, but he’s unlikely to be more than fringe-average in center field. If he does move over, his below-average arm likely limits him to left field. Davalan played all three outfield positions in college and also got time at second base, which could be an option as a pro as well.
The Future: Davalan opened his pro career with eight regular season games with Low-A Rancho Cucamonga. He’ll likely begin 2026 at High-A Great Lakes, where he’ll work toward a ceiling as a table-setting center fielder.
