School: Texas A&M Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.9
BA Grade: 45/High
Patton is a pitchability lefty who spent two solid years at Long Beach State before transferring to Texas A&M for the 2025 season. After a handful of strong starts to open the year, Patton struggled and finished the campaign with a 5.26 ERA over 77 innings. His 24.7% strikeout and 5.1% walk rates were much more encouraging. Listed at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, Patton has an overhead windup and throws from a three-quarters slot with advanced feel for a three-pitch mix. He throws his fastball in the 89-91 mph range with some cutting action and can touch 93 mph here and there. His fastball command stands out more than his velocity, and he does a nice job establishing the pitch in the zone for strikes. Patton’s primary breaking ball is a short, sweepy low-80s slider that lacks tilt and bite. His 78-80 mph changeup offers some light tumbling action. While nothing stands out as plus, Patton is an above-average strike-thrower. Despite completing six full innings in just four of his 15 starts for the Aggies, Patton’s arsenal and pitching style is better suited for a starting role in pro ball. He’s a likely top-eight-rounds selection.
Scouting Grades: Fastball: 40 | Slider: 45 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 55.
