Drafted in the 2nd round (54th overall) by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1997

Teams backed off Wolf early in the year when his velocity was down and his command wavered. But he was doing double duty as Pepperdine's cleanup hitter and had to adjust to his third pitching coach in three years. After he focused primarily on pitching, his velocity and sharpness returned and he re-established himself as a potential first-round pick. He's a good athlete who's smart and has a good assortment of pitches.
