  Lunceford is an undersized righthander with a 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame who spent two seasons at Missouri before transferring to Wake Forest for the 2025 season. He turned in the best season of his career with a 5.25 ERA over 15 starts and 60 innings, with a career-best 32.8% strikeout rate and 10.4% walk rate. On the surface, Lunceford’s stuff is just fringy, but he has enough deception and movement traits to help his arsenal play up. He features a deep, plunging arm action and throws from a three-quarters slot. Lunceford sits in the low 90s with his fastball and will top out at 95 mph, but the pitch has averaged more than 20 inches of induced vertical break throughout his college career. That riding life helps it play up from its ordinary velocity, though his command of the pitch could be sharpened. Lunceford’s low-80s changeup is his primary offspeed offering—against both righties and lefties—and he kills spin on it nicely, with more than 10 inches of separation in vertical break from his fastball. He generated a miss rate north of 50% with the changeup in 2025. He also throws two breaking balls: a slow mid-70s curveball with 12-6 shape and a slider in the low 80s with more gloveside sweep. Both have been effective against college hitters but don’t profile as much more than solid-average.

  Lunceford is an undersized, athletic arm, who struggled in both of his seasons at Missouri, but his arsenal plays well against wood. He has an exciting pitch mix that is headlined by a fastball that last season averaged over 21 inches of ride and a comfortably plus changeup that gets great separation off his fastball. Lunceford does a nice job of killing spin on the pitch, and it seemingly falls off a table as it approaches home plate. Both his slider and curveball—especially his curveball—have also flashed, with each showing swing-and-miss potential.
