Track Record: In 2022, after completing his fourth and final season at George Washington, Cohen headed out for his second tour of the Cape Cod League. That summer, he was part of a loaded Cotuit team that has already produced eight big leaguers. If Cohen reaches MLB, he’d be the first pitcher of the group to do so. The year prior, he was teammates on Cotuit with current New York first baseman Ben Rice. The Yankees signed Cohen as an undrafted free agent, and he split the 2025 season between the upper levels. New York left him off its 40-man roster and unprotected ahead of the Rule 5 draft.

Scouting Report: Cohen works with a four-seam fastball in the low 90s with roughly 18 inches of induced vertical break, a mid-80s breaking pitch that rides the line between cutter and slider and a changeup in the same velocity band. The cutter and changeup each induced chases at rates of greater than 30% and miss rates between 43-48%. Cohen struggles to land any of his pitches in the zone could cause problems against savvier hitters content to take a walk. His delivery is deceptive and frenetic and features a high leg kick and compact arm action. Toward the end of the year, he also removed a hand break from his mechanics.

The Future: Cohen is a near-ready big leaguer best suited for a role in middle relief. If he can find the zone more often with his pitches, he could unlock a touch more ceiling.
