The younger brother of big leaguer Kyle Teel, Aidan logged just 10 at-bats as a freshman, but stepped into an everyday role in 2025 and hit .317/.442/.538 with 20 doubles, seven home runs, 40 RBIs and more walks (31) than strikeouts (30). Teel has both advanced bat-to-ball skills and a polished approach, and he consistently stacks quality at-bats. He has an above-average arm in center field, which is where he figures to slot in at Mississippi State, though he could move to a corner spot professionally.

Teel arrived at Virginia as a freshman in 2023, the same year his older brother, Kyle, starred for the Cavaliers before becoming a first-round pick by the Red Sox. Aidan missed that season with injury, then returned as both a pitcher and hitter in 2024 before settling in as Virginia’s leadoff hitter and regular center fielder as a junior in 2025. The lefthanded hitter turned in a rock-solid .317/.442/.538 line with seven homers in 59 games and more walks (31) than strikeouts (30). He uses that bat-to-ball ability and solid eye to turn in competitive at-bats, although his offensive profile is limited by below-average power. Teel was into the 90s on the mound as a pitcher in 2024 and, unsurprisingly, is a strong thrower in the outfield. He’s not the rangiest defender but takes strong routes to the ball and has a flare for the dramatic, including a diving catch retreating on a ball this April that was one of the more memorable outfield plays of the college season. He should be able to handle all three outfield positions which, paired with his bat-to-ball, provide a floor as a potential fourth outfielder with a chance for more given his relatively short track record of hitting full-time. If Teel doesn’t sign, he committed to following Brian O’Connor to Mississippi State next year.
