Tate is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound outfielder and second baseman who started his career with Georgia but transferred to Georgia Southern for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He has been a well-rounded offensive player with power, speed and on-base skills at Georgia Southern, though his power didn’t translate to wood bats in a 21-game stint in the Cape Cod League in 2024. He did create much more over-the-fence power in 2025 when he hit a career-high 12 homers over 59 games. Tate has a higher handset, a noisy pre-pitch setup and deploys a sizable leg kick as a timing mechanism. He’s shown solid plate discipline, makes a lot of contact within the strike zone and was fairly solid against all pitch types in 2025, even if he’d benefit from hitting even more of his best-struck contact to the pull side.
