School: TCU Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 22.0
Silva was a heralded high school prospect in 2022 who withdrew from the draft, made it to campus at TCU and had a standout 2023 freshman season that resulted in a run with Team USA’s trials roster. It’s been tough sledding for him since. Silva posted a .753 OPS in 2024 and then struck out 29% of the time on the Cape that summer. He didn’t show a ton of pop during his junior year in 2025, either, hitting .283/.350/.425 with six homers in 59 games. At his best, Silva has shown impressive power from the right side to go with fluid defensive actions and above-average arm strength at shortstop, but he’s never been able to fully put things together. His talent fits in rounds 11-20 as a potential change-of-scenery bounceback candidate in pro ball.

Silva would have ranked as a top-200 prospect out of high school in the 2022 class but he withdrew from the draft before it happened in order to make it to campus at Fort Worth. That move appeared to pay off for him after a strong 2023 freshman season when he hit .330 and showed terrific glove work at shortstop and was then invited to Team USA’s trials over the summer. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound shortstop had a dismal 2024 sophomore-eligible season however, and struggled to a .268/.369/.384 line and career-high 18.6% strikeout rate. After entering the season with potential first-round buzz, Silva is now viewed as a 5-7 round talent after backing up as both a hitter and defender. He’s always been a defensive-first player and in the past showed excellent footwork and actions with the ability to make highlight reel plays thanks to athleticism, body control and above-average arm strength. Scouts still like Silva’s body control at the position but noted he was more slow-footed and slow-twitch this spring with more average arm grades. Some scouts even thought he should move off the position entirely and play second. That’s a significant change from just a year ago, and could make it tempting for Silva to not sign, return to school for 2025 and re-establish himself.
