School: Oregon State Drafted/Committed: D-backs ’22 (19)
Age At Draft: 21.7
BA Grade: 50/High
Turley is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound tool shed who has flashed big-time upside dating back to his prep days, when he ranked as a top 100 player in the 2022 class. Turley received draft interest in the first two rounds but honored his commitment to Oregon State. In three years with the Beavers, Turley has been a consistent source of power, with at least 14 home runs and a 1.000 OPS in each season, though that power has come with swing-and-miss tendencies. Turley has an explosive operation in the box with great bat speed, while his leveraged, uphill bat path leads to monstrous home runs to his pull side. While Turley has managed to cut his strikeout rate each year, he still strikes out at a 26.6% clip and swings and misses far too frequently against secondaries. There’s a real split in Turley’s production versus fastballs compared to breaking and offspeed pitches, and he’ll need to improve his approach to continue tapping into his power with a wood bat in pro ball. While Turley comes with pure hit questions, he has always shown solid on-base skills and owns a career 17.4% walk rate. Turley is an above-average runner with a plus throwing arm who is athletic enough to handle all three outfield positions, but he fits best in either right or left field.
Scouting Grades: Hit: 40 | Power: 55 | Run:55 | Field: 50 | Arm: 60.

Turley is one of the toolsiest players in the 2025 class. He received interest within the first two rounds of the draft out of high school, but honored his commitment to Oregon State. As a sophomore in 2024 he hit .277/.412/.589 with 33 extra-base hits—including 19 home runs—and 74 RBIs. Turley boasts an athletic frame at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds. He has an explosive operation in the box with double-plus bat speed and an active lower half. He creates leverage to the pull side and has plus power that he has no issue accessing in games. Turley’s hit tool needs to take a sizable step forward in order to maximize his immense upside. Picking up spin and staying within the strike zone have been two particular bugaboos for him. Defensively, Turley has a plus arm and his athleticism and speed both translate well to the outfield though he might fit best in a corner.

Turley is among the toolsiest players in the 2022 class. He’s turned in double-plus run times in the 60-yard dash, he produced the third-best exit velocity (103 mph) in workouts at Perfect Game’s National showcase and he put on a show in batting practice at Area Code Games, with an in-game no-doubt homer to left for good measure. He showed impressive bat speed and extension, with easy plus power now. His home run at Area Codes was against an 89 mph fastball and came off his bat at 104 mph, with an estimated 429-foot distance. When Turley is making contact, he looks like a future star, but he has trouble making contact consistently. He’s shown a questionable approach and will expand the zone and make poor swing decisions, and he also needs to improve his contact and recognition of breaking stuff. Turley has also played a lot of corner outfield, which will make some teams skeptical, though he has more than enough speed to handle center field and has shown impressive jumps and athleticism as well. Turley is committed to Oregon State but has talent that fits among the top three rounds if a team thinks it can develop him as a hitter.
