Hines is a slugging righthanded hitter with big-time present physicality. Listed at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, he can produce towering fly balls to left field with great bat speed and leverage in his swing. Hines has a fairly significant hand hitch and barrel tip in his load that could create timing issues against more advanced pitching, and his swing can also get a bit lengthy and pull-oriented at times. Despite some of Hines’ pure hit questions, he has done a nice job tapping into his power during games in high school and has the sort of strength that will allow him to collect extra-base hits and homers even without flush contact. His value will come mostly from his ability to hit for impact. Hines is a below-average runner who needs to refine his defensive work in the outfield and probably fits best in left field with his below-average arm. Hines is committed to Alabama and his talent fits in rounds seven to 10.
