BA Grade/Risk: 45/Average
Adjusted Grade: 35
Track Record: Labrada emerged as one of Cuba’s brightest young talents, captaining the national team and hitting .350 as its leadoff hitter at the 2018 Pan-American Championships. He left for the Dominican Republic in 2019, and the journey paid off when the Mariners signed him for $350,000 in 2021. The 25-year-old spent all of 2025 split between Double-A and Triple-A and slashed .281/.403/.405 with 44 stolen bases over 128 games.
Scouting Report: The 5-foot-8 Labrada has a great sense of his strengths and weaknesses. With a game built around speed, he has swiped 172 bases over the last five seasons. His footwork extends to the outfield, where he gets above-average jumps and is a steady defender at all three positions. At the plate, he understands that he’s the kind of hitter who thrives by using his solid bat-to-ball skills to hit the ball to the alleys. There’s some sneaky power in his bat, too, with a 90th percentile exit velocity that hovers around 103 mph, but his game centers on driving balls into the gaps all over the field rather than swinging for the fences. His zone recognition gains helped him post career bests in walk rate (14.9%) and strikeout rate (16.9%) in 2025.
The Future: Labrada projects as a fourth outfielder who can serve as a defensive replacement or pinch-runner. He should have a shot at reaching the majors in 2026.

BA Grade/Risk: 40/High
Track Record: Labrada starred as Cuba's leadoff hitter at the 2018 Pan-American championships and briefly played in Cuba's major league, Serie Nacional. He relocated to the Dominican Republic to pursue an MLB career and signed with the Mariners for $350,000. Labrada impressed in his stateside debut with Low-A Modesto in 2021, but he hit a wall offensively against better competition at High-A Everett in 2022.
Scouting Report: Labrada is an undersized sparkplug whose best trait is his high-energy style of play. He slaps the ball around with a quick, compact swing and uses his above-average speed to beat out infield hits and steal bases. He always runs hard, including coming on and off the field, and sets a frenzied tone atop a lineup. Labrada is an aggressive hitter and expands the zone too often, which was exposed against better pitching. He has some pullside power but gets in trouble overswinging, limiting him to a well below-average hitter. Labrada's speed and high motor make him a threat on the bases and help him outrun bad jumps or routes in center field. He projects to be an above-average defender with a below-average arm.
The Future: Labrada's speed and ability to play center field give him a chance to be an up-down option. He'll move to Double-A Arkansas in 2023.
Scouting Grades: Hit: 30. Power: 30. Speed: 55. Fielding: 55. Arm: 40. -
Track Record: Labrada hit .350 as Cuba’s leadoff hitter and team captain at the 2018 Pan-American Championships and briefly played for Industriales in Cuba’s major league. He relocated to the Dominican Republic in 2019 to sign with an MLB team and agreed to a $350,000 bonus with the Mariners. After waiting out the coronavirus pandemic, Labrada made his pro debut in 2021 and hit his way out of Low-A Modesto to finish the season at High-A Everett.
Scouting Report: Labrada is a throwback as an undersized, high-energy center fielder who slaps the ball around and lets his speed work. He has plus-plus speed and always runs hard, including coming on and off the field between innings. He energizes his teams and sets the tone atop the lineup. Labrada can be aggressive at the plate, but he stays in the strike zone and makes a lot of contact with a quick, compact swing from the left side. He has a chance to be an average hitter but gets in trouble when he tries to chase power, which he lacks the strength to generate. Labrada’s speed and range allow him to outrun bad reads or jumps in center field. He has a chance to be an above-average defender with below-average arm strength.
The Future: Labrada projects to be a high-energy fourth outfielder. He’ll see Double-A in 2022.

Signed out of Cuba for $350,000 last November, Labrada made his professional debut with Low-A Modesto in mid May and electrified the club as a dynamic, high-energy presence at the top of the order. He is a twitchy, explosive defender in center field and plays hard and fast all the time, including frequently beating everyone on and off the field. While aggressive at the plate, he stays in the strike zone, makes a lot of contact with a compact, quick swing and wreaks havoc on the basepaths with plus speed. Labrada is small and lacks home run power, but he does enough to be at least a potential reserve.
