Pacella is a big and physical 6-foot-4, 235-pound lefthanded hitter who has been a double-digit home run producer for three seasons with Illinois State. Pacella has hit over .300 in each college season and is a great fastball hitter, but his underlying miss tendencies and struggles against secondaries point to a power-over-hit profile at the next level. He generates impressive exit velocities and consistently gets the ball in the air to his pull side to take advantage of his raw power. Pacella has made strides cleaning up his swing, although some scouts have concerns about how his strength-based swing and overall approach will translate to wood bats, where he has a modest track record as an amateur. A below-average runner, Pacella exclusively played left field in college and will be limited to a corner in pro ball.
