Stein is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound shortstop and righthanded hitter who performs everywhere he goes. He hit at a high clip at all the events he attended in 2024, including loud showings at the Perfect Game national showcase, East Coast Pro and in Jupiter during the fall. Stein has a sound offensive approach and excellent contact skills. He rarely swings and misses due to standout hand-eye coordination, solid bat speed and a fairly compact bat path. Stein has the actions to stick in the infield with enough arm for the left side. Stein is a Wake Forest commit who some teams may be more inclined to get to college because of his skills-over-tools profile.
