Alleyne is old for the class as a fifth-year college player, but he’s been a remarkable development story for Maryland over the course of that career. He went from an infrequently used reserve player back in 2018 to a first-team All-American and Big Ten Conference Player of the Year in 2022. Alleyne led the conference with 24 home runs and 79 RBIs, while slashing .331/.422/.673 and he tacked on 24 stolen bases for good measure as the team’s everyday center fielder. He’s an above-average runner with power from both sides of the plate while also holding down center field well—so there are some real tools to get excited about here as well as his standout production.
