Buenik has a strong 6-foot-3 frame and ran his heavy fastball up to 91 mph during the travel circuit in 2024. The early returns from his offseason work have been exciting, with Buenik’s velocity up 95 mph and his offspeed stuff trending up, as well. Buenik pitched with a fastball-heavy attack last summer, mixing in an occasional slider, but early this year he has shown better feel to spin his slider while adding a spin-killing splitter with promising action.
