Ferguson stands out for his strong 6-foot-4 frame and power stuff for his age. There’s effort to his operation, but he consistently pounds the strike zone. Ferguson pitches off a fastball that touches 94 mph and backs it up with a hard, sharp curveball. It’s a breaking ball with tight rotation that misses bats at a high clip and for which he has feel to land in the zone. Ferguson has a changeup, too, but it’s his fastball/breaking ball mix that accounts for most of his success.
