School: Oconee County HS, Watkinsville, Ga. Drafted/Committed: Georgia
Age At Draft: 18.6
Johnson is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound outfielder and lefthanded hitter who stands out for his contact and on-base skills. He has a fluid swing with a slightly uphill path that could lead to more power in the future, but scouts have been most impressed with his pure hitting ability, approach and strong offensive track record. He has done a nice job making contact at a solid clip and understands the zone enough to draw walks at a high level. A center fielder now, Johnson has solid defensive instincts, but he is a below-average runner who profiles best in a corner at the next level. Johnson could have enough arm strength to profile nicely in right. He might be a tough sign out of his Georgia commitment.
