Catalano was one of the Sooners’ most prized recruits, and so far he’s lived up to the hype. Through 5.2 innings, the 6-foot righthander is yet to allow an earned run or issue a walk and has collected eight strikeouts. Catalano has a shorter arm stroke and features a fastball that has been up to 96 mph with carry, as well as a pair of effective breaking balls in a mid-to-upper-70s curveball and an upper-70s-to-low-80s slider. Expect him to compete for the Friday starter role next season. -
