If one were to come up with superlatives for the 2025 UC Santa Barbara pitching staff, Tryba would almost certainly win the "most underrated" award. He was nails in relief last season and pitched his way to a 3.64 ERA with 65 strikeouts to just 14 walks across 47 innings. He missed some time this spring due to an injury, but still managed to compile a 3.48 ERA with 46 strikeouts to 12 walks across 31 innings. Tryba spent his summer in the Cape League with Orleans, where he pitched to a miniscule 1.07 ERA with 28 strikeouts against seven walks in 25.1 innings. Though slightly undersized, Tryba has an appealing degree of explosiveness in his delivery. His low-90s fastball has plenty of armside life, while his upper-70s-to-low-80s sweeper is a plus pitch that averaged almost a foot-and-a-half of lateral life. Tryba rounds out his arsenal with a changeup that flashes above-average with both tumble and fade. Between the spring and summer, they garnered whiff rates of 45% and 47%, respectively.
