Track Record: After three seasons at Georgia and one summer with the Cape Cod League, Harber transferred to North Carolina for his final college go-round. With the Tar Heels, Harber produced a 1.073 OPS. He signed with the Yankees as an undrafted free agent and hit his way onto the radar before being included in the package that brought Camilo Doval to New York. He produced at every stop in the minor leagues, then posted a stellar season in the Arizona Fall League.
Scouting Report: First and foremost, Harber is a hitter. He hits the ball hard and often, producing a 90th percentile exit velocity of 107.9 mph. The figure placed him third in the organization, behind just Dakota Jordan and Marco Luciano. His next test will come in Double-A, where he’ll face savvier pitchers than he encountered at the lower levels. There’s no questioning Harber’s impact. Now, he’ll have to learn how to pull velocity. All of his pull-side home runs in 2025 came on hanging breaking balls. All of his home runs against fastballs went to center field or the opposite way. Although he’s gotten his body in better shape over the course of the season, virtually all of his value is likely to come from the batter’s box. He grades well analytically at third base, but evaluators generally believe first base is his future home.
The Future: If Harber can produce at Double-A at a level anywhere near what he did at the Class A stops, his prospect stock will gain serious helium. It’ll be a bonus if he can stick at third base or hack it in the outfield.

Draft Prospects

Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.8
Harber impressed as a strong, power-oriented corner infielder out of high school but his struggles over the showcase circuit allowed him to get to campus in the shortened 2020 draft year. Harber turned into a solid power source for the Bulldogs in 2022, when he hit 13 home runs and did more of the same during his 2023 draft year. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound infielder hit .283/.342/.575 with 18 home runs, which was second on the team behind Charlie Condon. Harber plays third base and first base for Georgia, but he looks like a future first baseman thanks to a limited ability to throw from different arm slots and fringy pure athleticism. It’s a bat-driven profile because of that, but he’s shown an ability to tap into his solid raw power consistently in the SEC, even if he’s a power-over-bat sort of offensive player. -
A strong, 6-foot-4, 210-pound corner infielder, Harber has a power-oriented game and was also a talented football player at Westminster High in Atlanta. He needed a strong spring with the bat after underwhelming over the summer showcase circuit in front of crosscheckers and scouting directors, so the shortened 2020 season is even more detrimental to Harber than most. Area scouts thought he improved in the fall and were looking forward to seeing more of him this spring, as some think he has a chance to be an average hitter with above-average or plus power. A third baseman now, Harber will likely have to move to first base at the next level, as his glove work and mobility at the hot corner leave evaluators wanting. He’s a below-average runner, so all of his value is tied up in the bat, and without strong summer performance to point to, Harber has a solid chance to get to Georgia where he could develop into a middle-of-the-order type slugger.
