Lean, loose and flexible, Hinojosa has cutting action on a fastball that has been up to 94 mph with the arm speed that suggests more velocity is on the way. Pitching from a long, full arm swing, Hinojosa is still learning to repeat his release point, but he shows feel for two secondary pitches. He leans mostly on his mid-to-upper 70s curveball, which he can spin above 2,600 rpm at times. It’s not a consistent pitch but the raw feel to spin is there to project on his breaking ball. Hinojosa throws a mid-80s changeup as well that flashes promising traits, though he hasn’t used it much.
