  Track Record: Vasquez was skinny and athletic with a whippy arm when the Diamondbacks signed him in January 2023 for $50,000. A deeper projection prospect with an upper-80s fastball, it did not take long for Vasquez to start looking more like a potential impact arm. In three years in the system, his velocity has exploded into the mid-to-upper 90s and his strike-throwing has significantly improved, making him one of the organization’s more intriguing young arms.
  
  Scouting Report: Vasquez has a fluid, easy delivery and a quick arm that generates an electric fastball. He sits 95 mph and tops at 98 mph, averaging almost 17 inches of ride, and holds his velocity deep into his starts. His sweepy breaking ball averages about 79 mph, and while some believe he should throw it harder, he elicited a huge 60% whiff rate on it in 2025. His firm changeup has good armside run and had a 53.8% whiff rate. Vasquez is athletic and repeats his delivery well, signs that his below-average control could improve with time.
  
  The Future: Vasquez has a wiry build with room to add some strength, but his remaining projection is mostly about command: If it improves, he will have a chance to start. Otherwise, he could be a power-armed reliever.
