  Ota has a tall, athletic and projectable frame and promising offensive upside. He’s a lefthanded hitter with good rhythm in a fluid, lefthanded swing. There’s some swing-and-miss that comes with being a young, long-limbed hitter, but he has simplified his lower-half load, and his hands come through the hitting zone well. Ota generates good stretch in his swing to rotate powerfully and generate some of the bigger exit velocities in the class with the potential to grow into plus-or-better raw power as he fills out his 6-foot-5 frame. An average runner, Ota is a center fielder who moves well for his size and likely fits best in a corner in pro ball.
