Grant attacks hitters with three quality pitches. He works off a lively fastball that’s regularly in the low 90s and can reach 95 mph with carry and armside run. He gets empty swings with his ability to manipulate multiple secondary pitches, led by a low-80s slider that has tight rotation above 2,900 rpm at times and two-plane depth. His changeup is another advanced pitch for his age with lively fade and heavy tumble at times. Grant doesn’t have the same physical upside as some of the pitchers ahead of him, but it’s a starter look between his operation, repertoire and pitchability.
