Osbolt has been a reliable, strike-throwing starter for Kennesaw State since the day he stepped on campus, and after a strong 2024 summer on the Cape entered the 2025 season with big expectations. Some scouts even viewed him as a potential top-three-rounds pick. Osbolt made just four starts and left his fourth outing in early March with elbow discomfort, then had Tommy John surgery and didn’t pitch the rest of the season. When healthy, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound righthander showed a solid three-pitch mix and plus control. He sits in the low 90s and has touched 97 mph with a fastball that some scouts say is an above-average pitch, though his four-seam shape is below-average. He might be better served with a two-seam fastball as his primary heater in pro ball. Osbolt also throws a mid-80s slider and a mid-80s changeup. While Osbolt has impressive feel to land his entire pitch mix, he’s never been a huge strikeout pitcher—he owns a career 15.3% strikeout rate—and will need to find a way to generate more whiffs in pro ball. His missed season adds more risk to his profile, but there’s a solid foundation of command and athleticism to build on once he returns to the mound.
