If you’re a fan of elite ability to spin the baseball, Worley is the pitcher for you. He’s a lean righthander with a 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame and operates with a clean delivery, a loose arm action and a three-quarters slot. He throws his fastball in the low 90s and has pushed the pitch to 94, but the centerpiece of his arsenal is a slider with huge spin rates that regularly gives hitters nightmares. He throws the slider in the low 80s and spins the ball in the 3,000+ rpm range with tremendous sweeping depth and no-doubt plus potential. The pitch dives away from righthanded hitters and has more than enough bite and movement to be a weapon against lefties as well. He has shown some ability to manipulate the shape and power of the breaking ball, and while his command of the pitch needs to be refined, it looks like an obvious wipeout sweeper. He doesn’t use it often, but will also flash a mid-80s changeup. Worley is a fine strike-thrower, but he’ll need to continue improving in that area to profile as a no-doubt starter. He’s committed to Kennesaw State and will be a draft-eligible sophomore if he makes it to campus.

Worley will draw attention for his innate ability to spin his breaking stuff. He’s 6-foot-2, 180 pounds with a fastball that has touched 93 mph with good life to his arm side and a chance to throw in the mid 90s once he fills out. The separator for Worley is his ability to manipulate his secondary pitches, including a low-80s slider that he can spin north of 3,000 rpm. He’s still learning to refine the shape and consistency of that pitch, but the raw spin is there for him to mold it into a swing-and-miss weapon. Worley doesn’t throw his changeup much but he has flashed feel for it at times. Throwing more strikes will be key for Worley, who has a lot of raw ingredients that could take off with professional instruction.
