Armah was one of the more well-known high schoolers in the mid-Atlantic area this spring where he was a two-way contributor for nationally-ranked St. John’s College High in Washington D.C. He shared a rotation with two other Division I commits, and scouts like Armah best on the mound, where he has plenty of projection even if the results haven’t always been there in high school or on the showcase circuit. The righthander has a high-waisted 6-foot-4, 190-pound frame and throws from an over-the-top arm slot. He’s been up to 93 mph with his fastball but typically sits in the upper 80s. He also throws a mid-70s curveball, a slider that gets into the lower 80s and a changeup in the upper 70s. Armah is committed to Auburn and there are questions about his signability. He’s a candidate to take a big leap forward in the SEC down the road with proper development.
