Sides has the long, projectable build that’s easy for scouts to dream on. He’s a lanky 6-foot-5 righthander with a loose arm and a fastball that can touch 92 mph from his low three-quarters slot. He holds his velocity well for a young, slender pitcher and has the strength projection to throw in the mid-to-upper 90s once he packs on more size. He shows feel to spin a slider with sharp bite at times. Tt’s typically the secondary pitch he leans on the most, but as the summer progressed, he broke out a promising changeup that’s inconsistent but flashes heavy tumble and fade.
