Willis is a 6-foot-5, 182-pound shortstop with a lanky, projectable frame and a handful of exciting tools. He’s a smooth defender at shortstop who should have the actions to be good at third base with a bit more arm strength if he needs to slide to the corner. Offensively he has solid bat speed with a long swing and did a nice job taking walks as they came this spring. He hit .315/.491/.517 with seven home runs, 14 doubles, 64 walks and 48 strikeouts. He also added 47 stolen bases. Willis needs to add strength and because of that some teams might prefer to see him get to Oklahoma and see what he looks like a year from now, but others are intrigued with what he’s shown already.
