Age At Draft: 21.3
BA Grade: 45/High
Martinez hit .316/.387/.451 with five home runs and 14 doubles in 2025, which marked his third consecutive college season with an average over .300 and a strikeout rate below 10%. He’s a physical 6-foot-3, 230-pound lefthanded hitter but has been more of a contact bat than the slugger that his frame would suggest and his position might warrant. He has plus bat-to-ball skills and a mature feel for the barrel with a compact and efficient swing that has above-average bat speed and minimal wasted movement. He rarely chases and naturally uses the entire field, giving him one of the more refined offensive approaches in the class. While Martinez does have above-average raw power, he doesn’t show it in games and his in-game power production has declined throughout college, not increased. His five home runs and .135 isolated slugging in 2025 were career lows. Scouts think Martinez has the raw power and hitting traits to unlock more game power in pro ball with a few tweaks. He’s a below-average athlete and runner who handles first base with limited range and inconsistent hands. He occasionally makes elementary mistakes at the position and will need to improve both his foot and glovework to avoid becoming a liability or moving to DH. Martinez has a bat-dependent profile but could still fit in the first five rounds given his standout hitting track record.
Scouting Grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 50 | Run:30 | Field: 40 | Arm: 40.

Outside of Caden Bodine at Coastal Carolina, Martinez is one of the best 2025-eligible hitters not at a major college program. In 2024 with UC Irvine he hit .316/.422/.492 with 27 extra-base hits, 74 RBIs and more walks (36) than strikeouts (29). He has comfortably plus bat-to-ball skills, as well as advanced feel for the barrel. Martinez has a compact, direct swing with above-average bat speed, and he never sells out to get to his power, though at the moment he hits for more singles and doubles with more raw power in the tank than his home run totals suggest.
