Age At Draft: 18.2
BA Grade: 50/Extreme
Sime Jr. is a classic power-armed prep righthander and one of a handful of high schoolers in the 2025 class who has already touched 100 mph—joining Seth Hernandez and Jack Bauer. He has a bulky, physical frame at 6-foot-4, 235 pounds with broad shoulders and plenty of strength in his lower and upper halves. Sime has a high-effort delivery that features a deep arm action, a three-quarters slot and some head whack through his finish that adds to his reliever risk, but his arm talent is among the best in the class and allows him to sit in the mid 90s. In one high-profile outing at USA Baseball’s National High School Invitational against SoCal juggernaut Corona, Sime held upper-90s velocity for more than 100 pitches. While the fastball clearly leads his arsenal, Sime has also made progress with his secondaries. His low-80s curveball flashes above-average potential with 11-to-5 shape and downward bite. He’s also flashed a solid mid-80s changeup with spin rates in the 1,700 rpm range that looks like a reliable pitch against lefthanded hitters at its best. In general, Sime needs to continue adding polish to his game. His command is below-average even when he’s around the zone and his consistency could be improved with both of his secondaries. He’s young for the class and committed to LSU, but his talent fits in the top three rounds.
Scouting Grades: Fastball: 70 | Curveball: 50 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 40.

Sime Jr. is on the younger end of the 2025 class with a big, physical build and an outstanding fastball. He can run it up to 99 mph with good life and carry up in the zone on his four-seamer and he can throw a sinker with heavy action. Sime has toned down some of the effort to his operation, but he’s still learning to add more touch and feel to his power game. Sime spins a mid-to-upper 70s curveball at times, but he mostly relies on overpowering hitters with his fastball and exceptional arm strength. His control is still raw, so he could move up boards if he’s able to prove he can throw more strikes.
